BS in Industrial Engineering at the University of Lima (Ulima), Peru and postgraduate in Computer Networks at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. Works in the information security area for 14 years, assumed in 1998 the management of the CAIS / RNP - RNP security group. Member of FIRST Steering Committee - global forum of security groups - from 2002 to 2008, becoming the first Latin American representative. Has been active in promoting infosec culture in Brazilian academic networks, as well as in the region of Latin America.

Mileide Magalhaes, Brazilian, is Manager of the CICTE / OAS cybersecurity program, which has, as its central objective, offer the possibility of developing a culture of cybersecurity to the OAS Member States. To do so, perform activities such as conferences, seminars and training in specific areas, discussion tables, in accordance to specific needs of each country.

Latin American Security Overview : reports from the battlefront
Description:
Botnets in Peru, DNS changers in Mexico, Banking Trojans in Brazil, attack via social networks in Chile, DDoS attacks in Argentina - the landscape of cyber threats in Latin America is as diverse and dynamic as its rich cultural and regional peculiarities. Being a security company fighting daily against malware and cybercrime globally, but with an eye on local reality, we have a privileged view of the threats around Latin America, their power, tendencies and how ordinary people have been affected by these attacks. In this presentation we'll bring real stories and the landscape of cyber threats in the region and outlines future trends: Latin America, a victim twice: external and internal attacks, malware trends in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Central America; exchanges between Latin America and Eastern Europe's cybercriminals; attacks outside-the-box: modems infected in Brazil; SpyEye and Central America's exploit kits; attacks to mobile devices, the next big wave.

BS in Computer Science, infosec worker for over 3 years as Malware Analyst at Kaspersky Lab in Brazil. Since 2006 is a volunteer at Linha Defensiva (NGO), an infosec comunity, working as an independent researcher, integrating the Group of Security Analysis and Incident Response (ARIS), with experience in virus analysis, bankers and other malwares originated in Brazil. Furthermore, Fabio is a member of Alliance of Security Analisis Professionals (ASAP).

Dealing with viruses and other malicious code
Description:
Even using antivirus, firewall and other protection tools, sometimes we suspect that our computer is infected with malicious code, and we do not understand very well what is happening in our machine. We don't see the virus running, don't know what he's doing, and receive alerts from antivirus and firewall saying things that we generally don't understand. In this talk we'll discuss some ways of dealing with these situations, clarifying the main issues on how virus, antivirus and firewalls works and using other security programs to assist in the understanding of security issues in our system.

It was legal advisor of Legal Counsel of Air Force Command and the Air Force Department. It was legal advisor of Information Security and Comunications Office on Institutional Security Cabinet of Brazilian Government. Currently, is legal advisor for the Higher Military Court acting as assistant on Minister's Department Lieutenant Air Brigadier Cleonilson Nicácio Silva. Has experience in the law area, with an emphasis in Public Law, Military Law (Administrative and Criminal), Law on Information Society and Electronic Law in addition to experience in Information Security and Communications, also acting as instructor and lecturer on topics related to the areas mentioned.

Actually is National Director at the National Information Tecnology Office (ONTI) on Ministers Cabinet, he is CIO of National Government, responsible for National Program of Critical Infrastructure and Cybersecurity. During 2011, for your participation and colaboration with NIST, he was proposed as chairman of development group to standards for biometric systems. Acting in CICTE OEA workshops on behalf of Republic of Argentina.

This talk will focus on conceptual and practical details of these new "plagues" developed for exploration of mobile devices features, focusing mainly on the Android operating system.

Computer Network Security teacher at IFRN with exclusive dedication, acting at the Undergraduate course of Network Technology at Natal's Central Campus and being the Academic Director of Management and Information Technology (DIATINF / IFRN). Sixteen years working with Linux operating system and fourteen years wit information security. Worked as Security Officer at UFRN Computing Superintendency, from 1998 to 2007, where he founded and coordinated the Naris - University CSIRT, was the DETRAN / PE Network Coordinator, besides acting as a consultant in the areas of Information Security and the Linux operating system in public and private institutions. He taught undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Computing and Bachelor of Information Systems (FARN / UNI-RN), Computer Science and Computer Engineering (UFRN) and postgraduate courses of Computer Networks and Systems Development (FARN / UNI-RN), Computer Forensics (UnP), Computer Forensics and Forensic Science (Uninorte / AC) and network Security (Estácio-Atual/RR).
